Ashraf M. Dahod – President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ashraf M. Dahod is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Altiostar. Before Altiostar, Mr. Dahod was the SVP & GM of Mobile Internet Technology Group at Cisco Systems which was created after Cisco acquired Starent Network in 2009. Mr. Dahod co-founded Starent Networks in 2000 and was its President & Chief Executive Officer. Starent went public on the NASDAQ in 2007. Prior to Starent, Mr. Dahod co-founded NetCore Systems, Inc. in 1996 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer. He has an exceptionally strong record of building successful technology companies, capitalizing on his ability to recognize market opportunities and combining it with a keen understanding of technology. He co-founded Sigma Network Systems, Inc. in 1988 and founded Nu-Link, Inc. in 1991, Applitek Corporation (renamed to LANCity) in 1981. Mr. Dahod holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, Master of Engineering Management from Northeastern University, Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Bombay.
Kelly Ahuja – Board Member
Mr. Kelly Ahuja is Senior Vice President of Service Provider Business, Products, and Solutions, where he is responsible for developing and managing the service provider segment strategy and portfolio within Cisco’s Development organization. Ahuja’s 17-year career at Cisco is rooted in the design and deployment of telecommunications networks. Before his current position, he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Mobility Business Group. In this role, he was responsible for the global business strategy and execution of Cisco’s entire mobility product and technology solutions portfolio, which targeted mobile service operators. Prior to that, Ahuja acted as Chief Architect for the Service Provider business, covering routing, optical, mobility, video, and cloud technologies. Before that, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Service Provider Routing Technology Group, in which he evolved and expanded the routing portfolio and managed the transition from IPv4 to IPv6. During this period, Ahuja also led the acquisition of Starent, which became the foundation of the Mobile Internet Technology Group. In prior roles at Cisco, Ahuja was Vice President and General Manager of the Core Routing Business Unit and Vice President of Marketing for the Carrier Core Multi Service Business Unit. Ahuja has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications and networking. Before joining Cisco, he served as Vice President of Marketing at BlueLeaf Networks, a start-up developing optical switching and transmission systems. Before that he led the product marketing team for Cisco network switches at StrataCom. In prior positions, he led the design and deployment of data and voice networks for several organizations in AT&T Canada and has also held engineering and analyst positions with Bank of Canada and Telesat Canada, designing, implementing, and supporting data and voice networks. Ahuja holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
Kwabena D. Akufo – Board Member
Dr. Kwabena D. Akufo is Apostle and Senior Pastor of the Bethsaida Christian Center of The Apostolic Church International in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Akufo worked in the computer industry for over 20 years before switching careers to become a minister. He obtained a Masters in Religion and a Doctorate in Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and has served in several executive roles in the USA branch of his denomination. In the computer industry he worked as an engineer, manager, and executive on various inter-networking products, where he had a reputation for creating robust engineering organizations from scratch to develop innovative products. His last role in the computer industry was VP and General Manager of the Inter-networking Systems Division of Tellabs. Prior to that he was cofounder and VP of Engineering for NetCore Systems. He was also a cofounder and VP of Engineering and Operations for Sigma Network Systems. Prior to that he was head of Software Development for Applitek Corporation. He also worked as head of Software Development for one of the first graphic-based Electronic Mail software for Honeywell Information Systems during the days leading up to the definition of SMTP. He was an adjunct Senior Lecturer of Computer Science at Boston University and adjunct Lecturer of Computer Science at University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Dr. Akufo holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from Brandeis University where he attended as a Wien scholar.
Paul J. Milbury – Board Member
Mr. Paul Milbury brings over 30 years of experience as a technology industry executive to Altiostar and its board. In his career, Paul has worked with both start-ups and multi-billion dollar global enterprises. Paul left Cisco Systems in 2010 after playing an integral part in the integration of Starent Networks, a provider of mobile networking solutions, into Cisco. In his role as vice-president of operations and CFO at Starent, Paul guided the company from its IPO process in 2007 to its acquisition by Cisco Systems in 2009 for $2.9 billion. Prior to Cisco, Paul served as CFO of Avid Technology, a digital media creation, management and distribution company. He has also served in financial executive roles at Digital Equipment Corporation, Juniornet and iBelong. Mr. Milbury currently serves on the boards of two public companies, Infinera Corporation, an optical networking equipment provider and Gigamon Inc., a provider of an intelligent visibility architecture for enterprises and service providers. Mr. Milbury also serves on the boards of two other private companies. Mr. Milbury holds a Master degree and a Bachelor degree of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Mr. Milbury is based in Boston, MA United States.
Yoav Samet – Board Member
Mr. Yoav Samet is Vice President Corporate Development at Cisco. Mr. Samet has over 20 years of experience leading strategy, acquisitions, venture capital investments, and Research and Development in the technology industry. Mr. Samet is leading Cisco’s corporate development activities (Mergers and Acquisitions, Investments, and Strategy) covering about a third of Cisco’s business, including Cisco’s Service Provider, Mobility, and software-enabled Services and Solutions businesses, as well as regional corporate development coverage for Europe, Israel, and Emerging Markets. Mr. Samet has led multiple company acquisitions for Cisco, and is responsible for a global team that manages a $750m portfolio of Cisco’s equity investments including over 30 direct minority investments, as well as LP positions with over 20 venture capital funds worldwide. Mr. Samet has earlier background in venture capital, operational management, entrepreneurship, and software development leadership roles. Mr. Samet holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University, Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Hebrew University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from Hebrew University.
