–New In-Building Virtualized Radio Access Network (RAN) Wireless Solution to be Showcased at Mobile World Congress 2017
TEWKSBURY, Mass., and MENLO PARK, Calif. — Feb. 27, 2017 — Altiostar, the pioneer in virtual RAN (vRAN) technology, and Dali Wireless, Inc., a leader in wireless fronthaul innovation for vRAN, announced today a close collaboration to bring vRAN to in-building wireless systems. The joint solution, which is scheduled for trial with tier 1 operators, enables the mobile telecommunication industry to maximize the usage of their existing wireless infrastructure, while providing them with a seamless migration path to vRAN in order to support future 5G technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT). Altiostar’s field-proven vRAN technology is the industry’s first virtual RAN. It solves capacity-crunch and reduces customer-churn utilizing the operator’s existing spectrum and pre-deployed equipment.
