Chris Simmonds
Dr Chris Simmonds is Senior Director, Product Line Management at Altiostar headquartered in Boston, USA. He has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications with a history of working on remote radios for LTE, WiMAX and WCDMA, as well as antenna line product developments and beamforming technologies.

Chris previously worked for the UK-based AceAxis Networks, owned by the Korean Telecoms manufacturer Ace Technology. Here Chris led the Company’s development of Remote Radio (RRH) products for Tier One OEMs, deploying Worldwide, before heading-up two business units developing Antenna Line Products and RF Test Equipment. Before AceAxis this Chris was at Powerwave Technologies for 7 years where he led several radio projects, as well as working on the company’s first remote radio head, one of earliest demonstrated RRH in the industry.

Prior to this, Chris was a founder member of Toshiba’s Telecommunications Research Lab in the UK where he ran the WLAN group, developing novel algorithms and architectures for smart antennas.

Chris has a PhD from Bristol University, UK where he managed the University’s involvement in several multi-national and multi-partnered European funded research programs into smart antenna technology.
