Altiostar CEO Named a Top 100 Influencer in 5G

Light Reading recently unveiled The 5G 100 list of the most influential individuals charting the course of 5G products, technologies and services.  We are honored to have Altiostar CEO Ashraf Dahod included as part of this list under the most influential Vendors category.

Ashraf brings a strong record of building successful technology companies, capitalizing on his ability to recognize market opportunities, and combining it with a keen understanding of technology. Before starting Altiostar, he co-founded Starent Networks in 2000, leading the company to a successful IPO in 2007 and then acquisition by Cisco in 2009. In his career, he also previously co-founded Sigma Network Systems, Inc. in 1988 , Nu-Link, Inc. in 1991, and Applitek Corporation (renamed to LANCity) in 1981.

Under Ashraf’s leadership, Altiostar has positioned itself as the leader in the Open vRAN market, with the first commercial deployment of an Open RAN solution at Rakuten Mobile earlier this year.  In the past year, the company has also brought on board as customers Bharti Airtel, Telefonica, Etisalat, and, most recently, DISH in the US.  We are also proud to see many of our customers’ executives included in this year’s list, validating their innovation and commitment to Open vRAN.
