[White Paper] Security in Open RAN

In this white paper it is demonstrated how, by adopting a zero-trust security framework, an Open RAN architecture provides a path to a more secure open networks and open interfaces over what exists today. Despite misconceptions, open interfaces, defined in the O-RAN technical specifications, provide increased independent visibility and the opportunity for an overall enhanced and more secure system.

5G and Open RAN enable new capabilities and control points that allow suppliers, test equipment manufacturers, wireless carriers, and network operators to assess, mitigate and manage security risks efficiently. This paper details how O-RAN enables operators with full visibility and control of their network’s end-to-end security.
